CP Nitron train today
Author: Railfan2

Todays Nitron train had a unusual lashup of a CP GP20ECS and a SOO SD60. The SD60 was to be dropped off at NRE in Silvis for rebuild and paint. It just happen to make the extra trip to the 3M plant and back.

CP no longer delivers to NRE on their eastbound trip from Nahant to Ceffco because they have to leave their train on the single track west of 7th Street East Moline. It also requires using the less-than-ideal NRE-owned run-around track at the interchange point. Lately the crew takes the engine(s) for NRE all the way to Ceffco or they are left on the run-around siding next to the East Moline water treatment plant to be delivered on their westbound trip back to Nahant.
