Western Railroad Discussion > Nice Surprise #4 Long La Plata stop with Private cars

#4 pulled into La Plata about 2hrs and 25 minutes late but a nice surprise. The Iowa Pacific and 2 Patrick Henry Promotions cars on the end. Took about 20 minutes to load all the people on some excursion, most went into the Iowa Pacific. on a beautiful sunny day in MO.
The 2 Patrick Henry cars 1 sleeper and 1 dome , are restored Union Pacific cars according to their web site built 1955. Train made 3 moves to baord everyone, most of the people got on the Iowa Pacific. Wonder what excursion it was , the Patrick Henry Promotion cars where at the end so part of their excursion?

Train stpped 3 cars up, loaded passengers then moved up 4 more cars and loaded about 50 people onto the Iowa Pacifc. Love the better Cams at this location.

The full-length dome car is an ex-ATSF unit.

It is my understanding that the Patrick Henry cars are heading to Denver to a weekend trip and returning to Chicago on Monday.
