Durango & Silverton early fall splendor

Monday, September 11 was a glorious day for a ride on the always scenic Durango & Silverton in Colorado. This is the second morning train climbing towards Silverton only about 10 miles out of Durango.

Rode the D & S a few years ago in the early fall. The aspens were in a full golden color. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for bringing back memories.

Second video has the afternoon train returning to Durango....here passing the Iron Horse Motel with trackside rooms and four steam trains in daylight. Decent place to stay.
