Hot Afternoon in Lincoln, NE
Author: twjurgens

Fellow TO member Scotty called yesterday and wanted to do a little railfanning. Yesterday afternoon didn't work but this afternoon did so off we went! A little warmer than anticipated but worth the effort.

In the first pic, BNSF 2746 and 2330 are returning to Hobson Yard presumably from a switch run to the elevator on the south end of town.

In the next two, 6551 and 713 are south bound on the St. Joe sub with a PASKCK. Our trusty railfan-mobile is standing by with a/c and shade in the second pic. Climbing that bridge embankment was a little more of an effort than anticipated!

The embankment is a good vantage point and so it seemed worth the effort to climb it once more to get shots of 3973, 6864, and 5890 on another southbound mixed freight. Before I started back down, 9191 came along with a coal empty (didn't get the second engine number and there was no dpu). The meet was icing on the cake!
