Western Railroad Discussion > UP 3014 Across the Sunset RouteDate: 09/21/17 21:51 UP 3014 Across the Sunset Route Author: z-trains Not much description on this one as there isn't much to say, heard that a Tier IV SD70ACe was leading a westbound manifest on the Yuma Subdivision this afternoon and headed out to intercept, shots are in chronological order.
1) UP 3014, a C41-8W and a newer CSX ET44AH head a westbound manifest train at West Palm Springs, California, in 50mph wind. 2) The same train approaches the signals at Fingal, California. It had a flashing yellow but I didn't know why... 3) Until I saw this all ES44AC powered westbound stacktrain in the distance. I darted ahead to catch the pair at Mons, racing up the hill side by side. There's more... 5) As an eastbound intermodal passes on the near track, the westbound manifest charges upgrade at Banning, California, after sitting at the MP 570 signals for an hour. 6) Finally, the westbound manifest curves through El Casco on the final stretch to West Colton.
