Portland Vancouver Junction Railroad has a new locomotive

On my way to the lumber yard for building materials, I saw that PVJR has a "new" unit: GMTX 398. It's an MP15, but beyond that, I don't know its history or the circumstances for it being here. It may be "new" power or simply a loan because SW1200 211 "Angry Chicken" is down.

Here's the MP15 at Rye, PVJR's "yard", in Vancouver, Washington.

211 is sitting forlorn by itself down the tracks.

Thanks for the information. I did a quick search online and didn't find anything. I wonder why the UP picked up an MP15 from SOO.

It's been a long time since one of the MILW MP15AC's visited Washington. There were only a handful that were stationed out west and this particular unit was not one of them but it's still nice to see it out there. This definitely gives this line some fine power that it probably has not seen ever before.

Soo didn't need 64 MP15ACs so they let one batch of 32 return to the leasing company at the end of the lease.
