Ex SP GP9 still at work in Colorado
Author: ns2557

Today, I went by the Holcim Cement Plant in Portland Colo, which is just east of Florence Colo on the ex DRGW Tenn Pass ML. At the plant, found this one. OSS GP9 3416. This was originally SP 5641.Over the years it migrated to here at the Holcim Plant. Not sure when it first arrived here, but I recall it at least 10 years or so. It has been sitting here at this spot or perhaps just west on the same track for the last few years, looking like it is OOS. So, as to whether or not it is active, remains to be known. But at least it's still around in todays age of big 6 axle, wide nose units. Portland Colo 09-25-2016. Ben
