Winamucca and Elko on the old WP. I haven't been to Ogden for about 7 years now, but last time I was there it was small yard with some freight action originating, but not much. I think some double stacks get transferred there these days. Lots of through traffic though, also some passenger trains to and from Salt Lake City. Also Rio Grande which I believe to Grand Junction but not certain.

I'm sure trains run through there now (Elko-Portola on the former WP; Elko-Sparks on the former SP).

Author: JDLX In the modern era, SP crew districts were Roseville, Sparks, Carlin, Ogden. WP crew districts were Portola, Winnemucca, Elko, Salt Lake City. As has been mentioned here, through trains have been rolling through Winnemucca, though it still has some yard and local jobs based from there. UP consolidated Elko and Carlin into Elko after the UP-SP merger. Elko's now an away terminal, not many crews based out of here anymore.
