Western Railroad Discussion > UP Special to St. Louis

Got word last night about two UP passenger specials leaving the heritage shops in Council Bluffs today, both with new Tier 4 EMD leaders. One train with 5 cars (PCBSA2 16) headed east to Boone and then south to KC and on to San Antonio for the special event happening there with the tarped UP 9026 later this week, the other was this 10 car train that ran the short way to KC down the former MoPac Falls City Sub. Clear blue skies and a late afternoon arrival into northeast Kansas made the two hour drive well worth the effort.
