Hmmm...retro throwback scheme with leaf brown, perhaps?

There was a B-17 named that. Just googled it and found this note from Mr don strack from back in November. "On August 3, 1943, a photo was taken of a Boeing B-17 heavy bomber, showing it lettered as "Spirit of the Union Pacific". The aircraft received the special lettering to acknowledge the contributions of the 65,000 employees of Union Pacific Railroad who had raised an extra $379,000 in war bond purchases."

Oh yeah...forgot about that. Hmmm...so maybe an SD70ACe made up to look like the B-17?

UP 9026 ceased to exist in the computer, and UP 1943's blue card now reflects as belonging to an SD70AH, former number 9026.

Didn't the 1943 number belong to a patched cotton belt locomotive?
Did it get renumbered?

A GP 60 It got renumbered to UP 1158, still is in SSW paint.

If you mean the "chin" turret, this was the "F" model that didn't have the chin turret. The chin turret came out on the next "G" model.-BMT

The last picture? Was that taken at the old Wright Patterson Air Force Base Museum in Dayton, OH? Use to visit there many, many times on business back in the 70's.
