8444 and Smoke and More Highlights . . .
Author: SCKP187

1. NS 8444 I waited for all day basically just because of the number but had no idea it was going to put on a steam engine-like show as it pulled through Wagoner OK with a grain shuttle headed for Salina KS

2. NS 8444 needs some serious number board work on both sides of the unit

3. While waiting for more trains to show up, the ever-present coal load--this one at Mazie OK going to Ft Gibson OK
more to follow . .

4. More waiting at Mazie with a pleasant surprise of UP 4357 & EC-5 and the same ol' SP flatcar testing all the defect detectors

5. Not far behind was the San Antonio business train with UP 3028 with Business Car Kenefick and 3 complimentary cars

6. Another unit that needs some serious attention to number boards---UP 8400 at South Wagoner takes a junk manifest north. Looks like it spent a lot of time behind another unit
Photos October 17 2017 Thanks for looking

Nice catches Brian with lots of variety. I like NS 8444 giving it's steam engine effect. You had a good day!

Which brings a question to mind. How many other photos exist of other railroad 8444/844/3985's?

SCKP187 --
Youi waited all day to see the NS 8444? Man, that
IS determination! Glad ya caught her, and behaving
like the steam loco whose number she bears, whose
crew is pleasin' the public by pourin' on far more
oil than she needs. Yeah, she does need numbers in
her number boards. Nice series of photos. You do
take great picture., Thanks for sharin' what ya saw!

I was fortunate to get a grab shot of 8444 on home rails in PA a few years ago. She gets around!
