A warmer sunny day yesterday so got out on the UP Cherokee Sub to get some of the daily action.

1. Fresh paint UP 7290 and EMDX 1602 just south of Adair OK with coal headed for Diaz Jct and Newark AR

3. Ex SP UP 6228 leads the MPSPB into Vinita OK, still set up with alternating ditch lights

4. Just a few minutes behind, after the track machines cleared up, a pair of faded coal units lead a Coleto Creek TX train through Vinita OK

5. Hearing on the scanner that there was an unusual northbound on the section of traditional southbound Cherokee Sub, I found the occasional evening lite power move from Muskogee OK to Parsons KS in glint at Keele Siding just north of Big Cabin OK.

Looks like you had a nice day trackside Brian. Lots of coal with some nice clean power units. Nice catch on the EMD 1602.

Pity the poor crew on that move, running against the flow with few places to meet opposing traffic.
