Western Railroad Discussion > "Loctite" TV commercial engine 3501.

Noted a TV commercial for a "LOCTITE" adhesive wherein 2 blocks of metal
are glued together and made to act as a coupling on a short train.

The engine is a 4-axle EMD, #3501 and it solid red with "LOCTITE" in white across the hood.

What engine / line is this?

I have not seen the add, but my first guess would be Fillmore & Western. They have 2 GP35s, the 3501 and 3502.

YUP, That was us! The Fillmore & Western Railway. The company wrapped the FMWX 3501 in red.

208 ton train? Impressive. If that adhesive could do that, I bet you could lift a Dash 8/9 off the rail by crane.

Lifting and pulling are not the same. You would never get the 208 tons off the ground.
