In the 11/8/17 edition of USA Today, there is a brief article mentioning that two sled dogs were killed at a rail crossing. Evidently the musher tried to stop the dogs but they kept going and were hit by a train. The article cites KTVA and gives no further details.

Happened on 11/3. Fairbanks coal turn. Three dogs killed according to the incident report I read. Sad situation all around.
