Western Railroad Discussion > CP Holiday Train in Illinois

My son and I went up to Gurnee, IL to see the CP Holiday Train at its first stop enroute to Milwaukee, WI. The crowd at Gurnee was as large as I can remember maybe due to the unseasonably warm weather we've been having. Since my son really wanted to see the train at speed, we left about halfway into the Gurnee show (which sounded great as always) and headed north. A little earlier research indicated the Russell Road crossing would be a good spot and it was. We had about a 20 minute wait and caught a westbound CP freight as well.
