Question About Kansas City Dispatching Office
Author: PRR_4859

Good Morning:

Does the UP still have dispatchers in the Kansas City Dispatching Office with BNSF and the Kansas City Terminal? What territory for the BNSF dispatchers cover and what territory does the UP dispatchers cover (if still there)?

Thank you in advance.

BNSF dispatchers work the entire Kansas Division.

Thank you. I heard a long time ago that the Kansas City office covered all the way to Belen, NM, but I figured that was inaccurate.

The UP has 2 dispatchers and a corridor manager. The UP KC East dispatcher covers the north end of the Coffeyvile Sub from Brown all the way north to Leeds and then the eastern half of the KC Metro to Broadway and along the Omaha main to 10th Street. The KC West dispatcher covers from Broadway all the way west on the Kansas Sub to Soildier Creek. It also does the very east end of the Topeka Sub from the connection to the Kansas Sub west to Z096.

If I recall correctly, Norfolk Southern has a DS there, also.
