What would a train in Orange and San Diego counties have anything remotely related to trains in Ventura county?

I think the prior post tries to tell us, using colloquial language, that the DAYGO or San Diego trains are operating normally.
The trouble (so far) is confined to the Ventura area, which is north of Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal.

I am saying that the DAYGO trains are not effected Because they turn before they get to the fire Zone. I think they turn near LAUPT.,.,.

No, they use the Fullerton Sub (Third District) from San Berdnardino through Riverside to Placentia, where they turn south to Orange and the San Diego Sub (Fourth District). Don't get anywhere near LAUPT.

I think the pacific surfliners run between LAUPT and SanDiego.
They don't go to San Bernardino!

(revised) I meant that because of the fire they are(were) only running between LAUPT and San Diego.

You guys are embarrassing yourselves re limits of SurfLiner route. Northern limit was extended to Santa Barbara and even San Luis Obispo several years ago, as consultation of any schedule will disclose.
Good to hear some rail service allowed thru fire zone anyway as bus bridges probably not practical either? --PG Boy(gone from topic territory for nearly two decades, but still interested)

Surfliners only go north as far as San Luis Obispo, CA. If you want to get to Paso you have 2 choices . . . Coast Starlight or transfer off of the Surfliner to an Ambus at Santa Barbara.

Before making any further posts, please find out what tracks are where in Southern California. The nearest a DAGO would get to Ventura County is at least 50 miles without looking at a map. They are in entire different areas.

LAUPT is NOT the center of all railroads in Southern California.

The Daygo cuts off the BNSF mainline at Atwood then goes down the Olive District to get to the Surfline to San Diego.

Ah yes. The once sleepy little Olive District! Sleepy no more! I remember when the tracks were bordered by Orange trees for most of their route down from Atwood to the Olive Packing house!

Olive was 85 lb rail and good for 30 mph on freights. Now 136 lb up to 70 mph for metrolink.

Master plan is to double track and rebuild the connecting track to head west to Anaheim.
