If I remember my geography correctly, one of the companies on Doolittle (west side) was Western Electric, which was a manufacturer of telephones/equipment. I kind of remember hat their building was next a spur that crossed Doolittle. I suspect that they once were railroad customers. One of my older brothers worked there during the summer(s) in the 1970's.
