Western Railroad Discussion > Sea Level Snow on the Puget SoundDate: 02/21/18 22:54 Sea Level Snow on the Puget Sound Author: DelMonteX Tuesday (2/20/18) the Puget Sound area got a little bit of snow all the way down to the water. Today we got some more, could be nice tomorrow.
So, in the light snow I caught a couple of trains at Steilacoom 1) Southbound intermodal. 2) Featured an newly rebuilt SD60M-3 (#136) and a former SantaFe GP50 in it's mostly original paint. 3) Shortly thereafter a northbound grainer showed up. Date: 02/21/18 22:58 Re: Sea Level Snow on the Puget Sound Author: DelMonteX 4) A late 505 showed up just as the flakes were disappearing.
5) Later at the Tacoma yard a rebuilt GP30 - now a GP39-3 is working the yard. Sure look nice! 6) To wrap it up, I'll go back a few days during a sun break for Cascades 504 with the ever-looming Mt Rainier. Bob Date: 02/21/18 23:55 Re: Sea Level Snow on the Puget Sound Author: Margaret_SP_fan Those area ll excellent pictures, especially the last one, with Mount Rainier and its lenticular clouds, the the lacy-looking wispy branches of the tree on the left. Your first image has a lot of nice things in it, and is very interesting, and the photo of the Talgo train along the Sound is lovely shades of gray,
You are a superb photographer, and I enjoy all of your photo essays, like this one. Thanks so much for sharing your work here. Date: 02/22/18 04:51 Re: Sea Level Snow on the Puget Sound Author: oklachaser Great photos. I especially like #6.
Ronda Thomas Date: 02/22/18 06:27 Re: Sea Level Snow on the Puget Sound Author: bath_wildcat The cab on that 39-3 takes away from the overall look. Should have left the cab alone, but it does look good.

That's the shortest SD50 I've ever seen, was it a victim of a telescoping frame? Posted from Android Date: 02/22/18 12:51 Re: Sea Level Snow on the Puget Sound Author: SantaFeRuss loopy7764 Wrote:
