Western Railroad Discussion > Tacoma Rail? Ex Columbia & Cowlitz?Date: 03/13/18 23:42 Tacoma Rail? Ex Columbia & Cowlitz? Author: railwaybaron When I'm done at Winterail this weekend, I plan to visit friends in Longview WA. Is the former Columbia & Cowlitz still running? if so when might I see it cross the giant trestle? Where's the power kept? Also, I want to shoot Tacoma Rail. I'll be happy with a few roster shots, are the "locals" friendly? Where's the engine house and can I get access for some roster shots? I'll probably be there this Sunday afternoon. Thanks in advance!

no longer run this line ! The "new" Columbia & Cowlitz operates right close to Longview now and all they use are 2 or 3 SW1500's that were from the Weyerhaeuser operation. Sorry Jay Roberts Sumner, WA. Date: 03/14/18 12:22 Re: Tacoma Rail? Ex Columbia & Cowlitz? Author: OregonOldGuy A small trestle over a street closer to Longview has been removed, totally cutting off the line over the river. I feel your pain. As close as I live now, I never connected with a train over the bridge. They wee running at night a lot near the end.
