Western Railroad Discussion > Nice Day in the 'HoodDate: 04/08/18 15:32 Nice Day in the 'Hood Author: icancmp193 Ventured out to Stampfli Lane this morning (MP 193.5 on the BNSF Gateway Sub) and a southbound was just getting ready to go after a crew change. It was a gorgeous morning after a couple days of rain (notice the again-swollen Indian Creek). There was even a little variety as the power was BNSF 8117, BNSF 8531 and CSX 9048 (ES44AC, SD70ACe and CW44-9), while the DPU's were BNSF 7498 & 4965 (ES44DC and C44-9W). After a friendly wave from the crew they were off and running. I am always amazed nowadays how quickly a heavy train can be brought from a standstill to track speed with seemingly minimal effort. Well, the CSX unit provided a little entertainment!

BTW--on the way to church saw both the SB and the NB at/in Almanor siding. DaveL Date: 04/08/18 21:33 Re: Nice Day in the 'Hood Author: OregonOldGuy If I didn't know where this was, I would have no clue. Please fill in a bit more data in your descriptions!

MP 193.5 on the BNSF Gateway Sub. I didn't say my usual "suburban Crescent Mills, CA". Date: 04/11/18 21:12 Re: Nice Day in the 'Hood Author: OregonOldGuy icancmp193 Wrote:

Were I from Middle America, I would likely have no clue. Had I not worked in Klamath Falls, I wouldn't have the input to tell me where you were! So be kind, reiterate!
