Looking Back A Couple Of Days On The BNSF--#27
Author: Ritzville

It's been Blustery(20-30mph), cold and rainy the last couple of days in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low was 50/41 and .50 of rain yesterday with lots of drips today. Friday had a coal train break-in-two as it was passing the backyard. Took over an hour for the train to move again. Here are some of the trains from today and a few from yesterday.

4/6/2018

1. WB 823am grain train with BNSF 8519-4141 on the point with DPU's and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.
2. DPU's green and cream 9604 and BNSF 4437 on same train in the rain.
3. WB 1001am coal train with BNSF 6233, CREX 1123 and BNSF 9353 on the point with DPU. This train broke in two as it was passing the backyard.

Great series. Nice to catch Amtrak when you can. Break-in-two right in front of you is rare.

A bit of variety with the CSXT and NS uits. I agree that a witnessing a pull-apart is very rare. Pretty neat but not for the train crews. Thanks.
