Sugar Land TX Railfanning
Author: erielackawanna

On my recent Houston trip I had not planned to railfan in Sugar Land and had done zero research on it, but while I was waiting for a work meeting in the lobby of one of the office buildings there, I happened to look out the window and see a UP local job. Shot it with the iPhone there and then when my meeting was done went out to find it. Timing wasn't great as it was actually finished with its work on Hines Lead and was running back to the main when I found it. Still, got a couple shots and then, walking back to my car noticed this building that seemed very "railroad." Turned out to be the Southern Pacific depot.

Images one is the LHT47 Eagle Lake Switcher arriving at the Hines Lead.

Images two and three are a couple hours later of the LHT47 waiting for clearance to retake the main from the Hines Lead.
