SD9043MAC leading w/b in AZ
Author: SD70M

Bet the crew loved it. Yesterday evening at Benson AZ I noted one of the recently reactivated units, 3582, on the point of a westbound train of empty intermodal equipment. Also of note earlier was a smart looking 9540 on an eastbound stack train. This must be one of the few remaining C41-8w,s left in the roster.

Wow strange to see all of this older equipment on the point now.
It becoming more and more common to see SD60Ms and dash 9s in the mix on the main line every day. I will say some of these SD60Ms are looking pretty rough must be original paint yet.

Awaiting the SD9043MACs up here in Oregon. Yesterday I caught a northbound heading into Eugene with a crusty SD60M and a recently-painted Dash 9 third and fourth in the consist.

They are up to 9 SD9043ACs back in service now on the UP. The UP 3582 is on the point of the IMQLBR 16 and is passed Redlands, CA at 11:19. The 2nd unit on the train was the original leader, but it went down and they had to replace it.
