SD 60s On Every Train, Foreign Power and Rare . . .
Author: SCKP187

With UP putting several older generation units back into service, fanning the Wagoner and Coffeyville Subs has been more interesting. Yesterday there was an SD60M on each Q and M train that I saw. Some a little worn for paint, but all of them running and pulling as intended.

1. MNLKS departs Coffeyville KS with KCS 4058-4701-UP 2372

2. UP 2372

3. Not very common on this part of the system, CN 2642 leads MSAKC with another SD60M in the consist as it rolls by the yard office and will make a set out
more to follow . .

4. UP 2247 on the MSAKC

5. Even more rare UP 9603 C44-9W as a leader with pretty clean paint on an mt grain train headed for St Joseph MO leaving the Coffeyville yard

Very true, over the last several days I have been seeing c41-8ws online in the consist also even see a couple c40-8s. This morning there was a ac44cw, sd60m and a dash 9 up front with a sd70 ace pushing. Some very interesting power combinations

Good catches, Brian! That 2372 sorta reminds me of some of the badly faded Warbonnets left over from the Santa Fe days...

You had certainly had an interesting outing Brian, Nice catches of the old UP units along with the Belles and CN unit. I agree with Lance also.

I saw two C44-9Ws trailing yesterday, one on Friday, and also on Friday, while I didn’t see it, a westbound Z train ran with a trio of them for power. Nice catches and indeed, fun times.

Nice shots Brian. Have seen a few 60m'S in Canon City and Colo in general. UP has one assigned to the Rock & Rail Rock Train. I always seem to catch it trailing. Thanks for sharing. Ben
