Western Railroad Discussion > An Olympian in KansasDate: 05/21/18 18:32 An Olympian in Kansas Author: bnsfsd70 Recently, I've had the luck of UP's Salt Lake City Olympics SD70M #2002 having taken up residence in my neighborhood.
Photo 1: Although I had to miss out on when the train pulled into Topeka on Saturday evening, I was later able to photograph it after it had been tied down for the night. The UP 2002 "Olympic" unit had come into town on the ANGTP-17, before being assigned to Sunday's MTPTP, which runs out to Junction City and back. Photo 2: No train? No problem! This afternoon, I shot the UP 2002 pulling back into Topeka on the head end of MTPNS. However, this train routinely runs back west to Topeka as light power, so the best option I had to shoot it was to go head on at Porubsky's Curve in Topeka. Thanks a lot for looking! - Jeff Carlson Date: 05/22/18 13:50 Re: An Olympian in Kansas Author: texchief1 Nice shots, Jeff!
