ALCO's, Super 7's and F Units. A&M and Oklahoma Findings
Author: Ohiorailfan

Day 3 of my journey west I started off with A&M in the morning and caught a local going to Rogers with 2 C420's hauling loaded sand. After that I caught the Monett turn once more and then headed to Oklahoma. First stop would be Mcalester to see if the AOK had their Super 7's there. Upon arriving in town a Northbound UP train went by with a FXE SD70ACe/UP SD60/FXE SD70ACe/UP SD70M consist. I chased it north of town a little bit before finding the Super 7's. Along with the 7's was AOK's SW1. After that we stopped at Hugo and shot the Kiamichi F unit that was on display as well as a couple non orange KRR engines. Enjoy!!!

Be still my heart seeing AOK locomotives in the old Rock Island- Henry Crown red and yellow. And with that logo on the switch engine.

Looks like somewhere I need to go roam around. I would love to hear those V-12 251’s and the other selection isn’t to bad either!

Too bad they painted the switcher. When they bought it,it was still in Rock Island colors.

You're not going to "restore" old paint that far gone no matter how much turtle wax you use. The unit had to be repainted at some point.

Any word on AOK's operating patterns? I'd love to catch them out on the road at some point this fall.
