Western Railroad Discussion > UP Congestion between Salt Lake City to OgdenDate: 06/21/18 11:19 UP Congestion between Salt Lake City to Ogden Author: ShastaDaylight Does anyone know why UP has over a half a dozen trains sitting between North yard in Salt Lake and Clearfield, Utah? Just seen from Northbound UTA FrontRunner.
Thanks for any info! Best wishes, ShastaDaylight Date: 06/21/18 12:13 Re: UP Congestion between Salt Lake City to Ogden Author: zfan Probably still filtering re-routed I-5 traffic through there a big reason.

CS Date: 06/22/18 16:33 Re: UP Congestion between Salt Lake City to Ogden Author: fresno Real simple - shortage of crews in SLC, Ogden and LV, plus too many trains showing up at the terminals with the reroutes. Whole rosters of pool crews have been out of people over the past two weeks, so the trains were getting parked - everywhere! Looks like the backlog of parked trains is finally getting cleared out a little bit now that the reroutes are ending.
UP said it could handle it...NOT! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/22/18 16:35 by SPSF. |
