Western Railroad Discussion > A Two Fer One Heritage DealDate: 06/25/18 00:44 A Two Fer One Heritage Deal Author: suvart Today the sunset route (and I) saw two heritage units. The Katy, 1988, and the Western Pacific, 1983, met just east of the Palm Springs platform. Just out of sight of anyone's vision besides the eastbound man, who probably (and rightfully) was too focused on the rails in front of him to turn around and witness a unique moment. Even if this had occurred at a grade crossing, I wondered, how many people pay close enough attention to the trains that go by them to be able to have gone "huh, that's not normal."?
Image 1 & 2: I unexpectedly ran across the Katy, looking rather shiny. Image 3: Shortly after, the WP chase began. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 06/25/18 11:45 by suvart. Date: 06/25/18 00:48 Re: A Two Fer One Heritage Deal Author: suvart 3-6:
The train 1983 was on was sitting in stop and go traffic waiting to get into the LA Basin. A particularly long stop next to a bush provided a fun opportunity to mess around with angles and framing. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/27/19 17:14 by suvart. |
