Older Power - Wagoner Sub . . .
Author: SCKP187

Nice power on rock trains on the UP Wagoner Sub today.
1.     In the form of powdered rock, cement train at Talala OK with UP 7094 and SD90/43MAC UP 3605 running south on the normally north directional section of the Wagoner Sub headed for Mingo TX

2.     6900 class units seem to have always been indicative of big power, in this case UP 6965 convertible 44/60AC leaving Coffeyville KS with an mt coal train just after a Wind Warning had stopped all trains---it was 99* at the south end of town when I arrived--78* 5 minutes later when I got to the other end of town as the wind and rain blew in and 93* several minutes later when I left town.

3.     Reflecting on recent re-paints of the 6000 class as the DPUs of a 2x3 mt coal train head into Coffeyville Yard for a crew change--these units are still on the Oklahoma side at South Coffeyville OK.

Glad you were able to catch the older power in the area. Looks like heavy heat in your area.

Brian, this is "older" power? I must be ancient.
