Yesterday's Louisville (NE) Turn
Author: twjurgens

We had heard the Louisville turn leave Union while we were waiting for the special so we thought we would try to get some shots of that as well.  It apparently had gotten to Louisville, done its work, and headed back.  They were stopped at Manly because a brush cutter was working between there and Weeping Water.  665 and UPY 697 had that train.

I had to hike a bit for these shots.  It was there at Manly that I discovered that a sunny July mid day in Nebraska is not a good time for geezers to be hiking!

I like the shots in a rarely photographed area but do you have one of those buttons that say, “Help, I’ve fallen and can’t get up.  I’m at mile post...”

I should have!  Another thing I discovered is that if you see one rather large (badger maybe?) hole, there are more that are probably hidden in the grass.  I stepped in one that was large enough to swallow my size 10.5 to 11 boot up to mid shin.  Glad no one was there to see me trying to get back up!
