-AMTK #11 below Metz Rd. West of King City.
- Eastbound Margarita Turn approaching tunnel 5 1/2 with the Metz airstrip on the left.
-The Turn plying the 100+ yr old Trestle spanning the Salinas River at Bradley.

Nice- the locations that are right under our noses, but are rarely photographed.

Years ago (late 80's) Mertz used to take off in his little biplane (a Pitts?) and buzz alongside the Coast Starlight- inverted! 
Passengers were always astonished.  Actually, it was pretty cool...

Now that is something I would have loved to see . . sounds like Mertz was one cool dude!!

Yeah, I worked on the Coast Starlight fairly regularly for about 4yrs (1998-2001) and saw him do this a couple of dozen times.
