Heavy Smoke For The Start Of The Week On The BNSF
Author: Ritzville

Woke up to what looked like fog but was smoke this morning in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with an unhealthy air quality and a high-low of 85-56. We have had smoke for weeks but higher up in the atmosphere. Today was like being in Los Angeles in the 1950's where your eyes, nose and throat burned. Traffic was fairly light today, so didn't have to go out into the smoke that much. It did clear up a bit in the afternoon but still unhealthy air quality. Hope this smoke clears out soon all over the West. Here are some of the trains from today and several from yesterday which had better air quality.

8/11/2018

3. EB 319pm grain train with BNSF 8251, green and cream 9653 and BNSF 4904 on the pull.

Thanks for hanging in there, I always appreciate your reports, and not only about trains.
I lived in Sou Cal in the 50s-70s and know a little bit about bad air, and pity you and other residents of these fire areas.
