Marquette Sub is OOS south of La Crescent. MN at the Root River last I heard. Sub ends at about MP 156 just before that. Reportedly a 574 train went south early this morning and there is a 575 parked per a facebook posting.

Not exactly near LaCrosse, but I-90/94 is closed at Mauston, WI (between New Lisbon and Wisconsin Dells on the CP).  Amtrak 8 has been stopped there for about 2 hours, and #7(28) is in Service Disruption at Milwaukee, so it's likely the CP is wet, too.

As of 9:10 this evening Amtrak 7 and 8 were still sitting at Portage and Mauston, WI respectively.

Both 7 and 8 re in "Service Disruption," accordig to Transitdocs.com, which I checked just 5 minutes ago.

Washed-out tracks are not going to be fixable quickly, so everyne on those 2 trains will have to be taken off and taken somewhere.  It just takes time to arrange that, epecially wit the torrential rains in that area.    It wsa reported that 10 inches of rain fell ibn one area!!  That is a bit more than half of what San Fracisco gets in one year!!!

No. 7(28) remains in Portage. With the BNSF washed out as well, it seems that a bus bridge is the only alternative OR annulment all together.

CP has re-opened their line west of Portage, WI.  Amtrak 8(26) on the move 22 hrs 35 mins late out of Wisconsin Dells.  Amtrak 7(27) still holding at Portage, over 17 hrs. late.
