It was bitterly cold in April when I visited, and about 70 in Kingman the next day. Obviously the high elevation has a lot to do with the low temps.

Good assumption.  Kingman is a little over 3000 feet, and Flag is 7000 feet.  Very wintery even in spring and fall.
