BNSF office car special in Nebraska...
Author: binder001

Thanks to an alert from a friend I was able to catch some shots of a BNSF 8-car officers' special rolling westbound on the mainline just east of Lincoln, NE last evening (10/15/2018)

Are those LEDs on the rear of the theatre car new? Don’t think I’ve seen them before.

I find it interesting that they don’t seem to care what leads their business train, that is certainly not a locomotive I’d choose to lead my business train.

Snow!  This is Nebraska - we had rain, then warm day on Sat, then on Sunday we had an early fall snow storm.  What was originally predicted as "flurries" ended up as 3 to 5 inches of snow in our area, then Monday (yesterday) the skies cleared and most of the snow melted.  So what you see is the remaining piles of snow.  Nebraska's weather keeps a railfan on their toes :-)

It's the deadhead leg, it doesn't matter what's leading as long as it's reliable.

Even on the actual officer moves they still don’t seem to care what’s on the head end

On officer moves, probably not. But if they are entertaining customers or other outside groups they usually put on their shiniest power.

It should always matter;  you are putting your name out there for everyone to see.  99.45% of the people looking at that have no idea it is a 'deadhead' move or even what a deadhead move actually is.  If it is part of a service you are trying to sell and you are going to put it out in public then you better put the best you have out there.   Just my opinion.
