Western Railroad Discussion > Leesdale Local with Ventura County GP38-2 Van Nuys CADate: 11/16/18 22:38 Leesdale Local with Ventura County GP38-2 Van Nuys CA Author: erielackawanna Went out on Wednesday for a second try at the Ventura County Railroad GP38-2 being delievered in fresh paint. This time I found it on the UP LOF65 Leesdale Local in Van Nuys CA. As the train was building I was able to get some very different angles on it.
Image one is the first pull just west of Van Nuys station. Image two is from the pedestrian bridge along Raymer. Image three is from the self-storage grade crossing (with said pedestrian bridge in view). Date: 11/16/18 22:40 Re: Leesdale Local with Ventura County GP38-2 Van Nuys CA Author: erielackawanna Image four is of the Leesdale coming up the Gemco Lead in order to clear the crossover and back onto the main.
Image five is a roster of the Ventura County GP38-2. Image six is of the Leesdale now shoving onto Track One while Metrolink 155 races towards us on Track Two. Image eight is another roster shot of the VCRR GP38-2. Thanks for looking. Charles Date: 11/16/18 23:34 Re: Leesdale Local with Ventura County GP38-2 Van Nuys CA Author: Fizzboy7 Great shots, great story, and historic location. Used to see SW1500's and GP9's shuffling cars back and forth from the back window of Fedco as a child. Often you could hear the roar, but not see anything (that window was high up!).
Said it before and I'll keep saying it... you are a brave man... Actually it would look a lot better if they did away with the yellow color.

as is your set of five. As to G&W and their paint scheme, they've rescued a number of operations that now still run, I'll take the paint scheme over a bike trail.
