Chambers Creek Park
Author: seod

I went to Chambers Creek Park in University place again to get some more Amtrak along the Puget Sound before the change over in spring. It was a clear Saturday. I thought it was going to be a good day as I got 5 trains in the first 45 minutes then it stopped I got 2 Amtraks in the next 3 hours. Oh well it was a good day to be out for a bit. I was dog sitting for my Nephew so Balto and I had a good walk around the park and got some decent pics.

#1 UP 7640 - 4436 on a northbound stack train with no PSR fill in it all just stacks.
#2 Amtrak 48 - 159 and the southbound Coast Starlight and my favorite photo prop in the park.
#3 UP 8985 - 5593 - 5166 - 4994 - 4827 south wit a PSR train full of regular freight than a big block of stacks.

Part 2 of Chambers Creek and Steilacoom,WA

#4 Balto my Nephews dog a 65# dog with about 50#'s of it bladder he pee'd on just about everything in the park. At least he is very friendly and wants to meet everybody. Well except for the little purse dogs he doesn't like them all that much.
#5 Amtrak 90250 - WDTX 1401 south with train 517 at Sunnyside park in Steilacoom
#6 WDTX 1405 north with Talgo 506 at bridge 15.1 in Steilacoom.

Nice series of shots. This is a beautiful area. Really like the third shot.

#3 with the 5-unit UP and the BNSF on the other track is especially nice.  Thanks for sharing.

It is left over from when it was a large gravel pit. They loaded barges from the now gone piers. I was told once what they were for but I cannot remember what I was told.
