Western Railroad Discussion > Galesburg,IL railfanningDate: 12/03/18 19:07 Galesburg,IL railfanning Author: tehachapi-dave Good evening,
Going to be in Galesburg, IL in a few days and wondering where in/around town to go, and what the traffic levels are there. Thanks Tehachapi-TJ Over & Out. You catch most of everything.

The old Santa Fe went over BN at that spot https://goo.gl/maps/mbZDmMmaaPP2 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/04/18 07:45 by Spoony81. The east/west road that parallels the former Q has virtually no shoulder and thus you can't really park on it. There is a public storage place just east of the overpass that is a good spot in the morning. Afternoons, you'll have to be more creative. I usually go to the first grade crossing on the former Santa Fe west of the bridge. It's about a quarter mile from the former Q but if something's coming on that line, I can easily get over there. I usually stay on the former Santa Fe which is the busier line. The park is my favorite place, however, in part because it has a porta-potty (when you get old such things become more important).
