New KCS siding on former Tex Mex line
Author: gonx

Finishing up the new 8000+ passing siding at Bruni, TX on the former Texas Mexican Ry. This new CTC siding on the KCS Laredo Sub helps to reduce a 30 mile gap between existing passing tracks.

Thanks for posting. How much of the KCS (ex SP side) and (ex Tex Mex side) are CTC? What gaps remain? Thanks for all info.

Both former TM and Espee lines are CTC equipped. Manyof the older sidings that were good enough for 1980's railroading, were too short, worn out or situated in towns with many grade x-ings. Very obsolete for today's longer trains.
