Western Railroad Discussion > Morgan Hill Stuffed

Both of last night's locals out of Watsonville Junction didn't quite make it back to base for whatever reason, and instead were tied down on the Morgan Hill siding on either side of Tennant Ave. I was riding in the area this afternoon and snapped a few pictures on my phone. The first shot is of the Rock Job and the next two are of the Salinas Hauler. Both were supposed to be picked up by the Margarita Local and brought back to Watsonville later today.

Being assembled in to one train and taken south from other reports as of 4 PM this afternoon.

Nice chase vehicle. I'm sure you couldn't help including it in the photos!

Interesting contrast in motive power as well. Thanks for posting!

Nightly rock train and Salinas Hauler.  Aparently (not verified) both had to tie down at Morgan Hill due to maintenance or an independent contractor fouling the main.
Saturday margarita crew took UP 1635 (SD-40N)  from  Watsonville Jct to assemble this all into 1 train and take  20 miles south to Logan/watsonville jct.

I really like shots 1 + 2; nice perspectives and sky.

Awesome shots! Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately I had to work today so I wasn't able catch this in person. Anyone on here catch the departure of the combined trains?

I'm convinced it's the best way to chase trains around here... especially on a big ADV bike!  You can get so many places where you shouldn't be able to haha.
