Hello 2019, a sunrise that wouldn't quit
Author: santafe199

Welcome to 2019. May our beloved ol’ US of A and those from ALL walks of life living therein have good fortune & many blessings in the coming year!

This is a symbolic sunrise to help usher in the new year. I recorded it almost 6 years ago down in my old Santa Fe stomping grounds. A great sunrise is always a sign of promise for any given new day. But this one was extraordinary! It started early, and just wouldn’t quit. Ironically, the very cloud pattern that gave off such deeply beautiful color is the same cloud pattern that smothered the sun a few minutes after it popped above the horizon…

1. 2. & 3. BNSF 4145 is silhouetted against the pre-sunrise horizon painted by the Master Artist.

Excellent, seems usually when I see skies like that the color is off in the distance, nice to be right there.

Nice Lance. Walton was where my great grandfather was kicked off the train because it was all the fare he had (he was a German immigrant trying to get to Newton where they had relatives). As the story goes........he thought the conductor might’ve forgotten that he paid only to Walton and  Newton was the next stop. But the conductor was a loyal Santa Fe employee who was making sure the company wasn’t cheated. May 2019 bring many blessings to you.

Lance, I don't know how you manage to find these sunrises and sunsets, but you are the master of the aforementioned.  Happy New Year!

Well...... I'd like to say it's skill & daring, but I wouldn't wanna short-circuit the website. It's really just a combination of (A), the state I live in and (B) I tend to venture out doors. A lot. With a camera...
