Western Railroad Discussion > Toto Tuesday: But First, The LocalDate: 01/15/19 19:56 Toto Tuesday: But First, The Local Author: mg8711 As seen a few threads below, this past Sunday was a busy day on the KP Line in Eastern Kansas with all of 3 trains, I know some of you have the luxury of a day like that sounding like the end of the world on your nearest rail line, but those of us on the ex Kansas Pacific are almost overwhelmed by that amount of traffic. What was strange was that more than 24 hours after a snowstorm concluded, there still hadn't been enough wind and melting for the snow that had accumulated on the trees to vanish, a rare photo op was at play and here's some of the days results, sticking to the first (and last) train of the day, even with all three trains shot.
1) Coming into Wamego at Balderson Boulevard, UP 8033 is the lead unit on train MTPTP-13 with a 1 car pick up from and a 5 car setout for Caterpillar... 2) As seen from Railroad Park just off of Lincoln Street in Wamego, UP 8033 has made its 1 car pick up, and is pulling the whole train forward to get off of the circuit for the crossing back at Balderson. 3) Leaving town now with my camera, and some random girls phone pointed at it, the 8033 passes the Ag Partners elevator and the west switch to the siding here. Date: 01/15/19 19:59 Re: Toto Tuesday: But First, The Local Author: mg8711 4 and 5) The MTPTP rolls into Manhattan at Water Treatment Plant Road after having crossed the Big Blue River.
6) After a drive with insane drivers across town, the last view of the westbound run of the MTPTP is had at 56th Avenue west of Manhattan All images taken January 13th, 2019 Thanks for looking! mg8711 Date: 01/15/19 20:42 Re: Toto Tuesday: But First, The Local Author: mojaveflyer Great exposures in low light!
