Horsing around along Kyle RR
Author: cozephyr

Friendly horse (Is this Mr. Ed-?) east of Limon, CO, came to visit me as westbound Kyle RR passed with Utah Railway 5004, MK50-3, and CORP 4074, SD40T-2 ex-Southern Pacific 8232 built March 1980.

Along Kyle RR Goodland Subdivision 17 January 2019.

Love it!  It is typically quite difficult to get livestock to cooperate as the train goes by.

Yes, in my experience , horses are often uncooperative.

Naysayers, you might call them.

Hey buddy,

Nice equine angle in your fodos.  Don't change your name to Wilber.

Cheers,

If not Wilbur, how about Mr Ed??? :^) Seriously though, here is my answer to your PM:

No sir, your PM is my first news of any derailment. The phrase 'Salina to Limon' sounds fishy, like a typical news release. KYLE trains out of Salina go east to Solomon, then up the old Beloit Branch before they can hit the old Rock Island and go west to Limon. And I'm guessing they get switched, or at least re-blocked en route more than once...”

(You should take a broom and sweep out some room in your PM mailbox. It's plum full...  ;^)

CZ,
If the horse didn't talk to you, it wasn't Mr. ED. upkpfan

Horses, by far, are curious creatures and will come over to see what you are doing. Clearly, trains don’t scare this guy

Is Kyle a 10 mph operation?

And a carrot or two will make him even friendlier!

Kyle does have sections restricted to 10 MPH.  Speed noted up to 30 MPH.

Getting horses to pose is easy if you have treats in your pocket.
