Western Railroad Discussion > Corsicana local arrives at Con's CornerDate: 01/29/19 12:29 Corsicana local arrives at Con's Corner Author: WrongWayMurphy The local Corsicana turn arrives back in Tyler (Tex) at Con's Corner on a overcast day last Friday.
The Tyler yard is about to undergo an extreme makeover expanding its capacity and track layout. Not sure if the double diamond stays - UP would sure like to get rid of it. Also 20 miles north at Big Sandy, UP will be installing a connector on the SW corner of the diamond (former T&P/SSW crossing) so trains coming west on the T&P can easily enter the Cotton Belt and head south to Tyler instead of pulling past the diamond, backing up on the interchange connector on the north side of the diamond, then heading south to Tyler. Currently there are a pair of switches being fabricated on site, on the right side of the first photo. The Cotton Belt Depot Museum is in the baggage section of the depot seen here.
