Western Railroad Discussion > Interesting heavy-duty flat car on the Austin Sub today.Date: 02/05/19 18:37 Interesting heavy-duty flat car on the Austin Sub today. Author: PALuvR I caught a couple of trains this morning on the UP Austin Sub. The first one was cement loads out of Dittlinger (Cemex) with a nice FXE unit in the middle of the consist. The second one had unexciting GE's for power but had a couple of interesting cars.
1-2. NB in Manchaca MP 190 on the Austin Sub 3. Power for northbounder out of Mexico Date: 02/05/19 18:41 Re: Interesting heavy-duty flat car on the Austin Sub today. Author: PALuvR One of the cars was a 16-axle flat car with an obviously heavy load. The other one was a pretty clean MP gon with a pipe load. Like that Screamin' Eagle logo!
I appreciate y'all taking a look. Thanks. Mike Date: 02/05/19 21:00 Re: Interesting heavy-duty flat car on the Austin Sub today. Author: GoldenState PALuvR Wrote:

The metal, still there on the deck, is the buildup/shimming material to stabilize whatever the last load was. Still an interesting car of a design I've never seen before! Thanks for posting the photo. Rob |
