I didn't notice all that stuff in there when I opened it. That's the part of the link telling Railway Age that it was me. The last time I tried a tinyurl, trainorders didn't like it either. TAW Date: 02/07/19 12:39 Re: Another one bites the dust Author: Lackawanna484 It will be interesting to see how EVP in charge of PSR interfaces with EVP Operations, EVP Equipment, etc.
The people who create the metrics for executive bonuses have their work cut out for them. Posted from Android Date: 02/07/19 14:00 Re: Another one bites the dust Author: tomstp One hopes Famhy remembers that prior converts to PSR had to back off some from it to keep some customers and not have a tied up mess on their hands. But, that obviously won't happen because it would be asking to much that someone finally had some sense..
Date: 02/07/19 16:00 Re: Another one bites the dust Author: Vicksburg_Route Implementing PSR on KCS should be a breeze. They don't run a lot of trains as it is. Removing a few of those shouldn't be a difficult task. Hopefully, he will convince the KCS Board to return to their historical roots as a North-South carrier and sell the Dallas to Meridian mainline as well as the other island lines in Mississippi. They should be able to get about $4B for Dallas to Meridian and another $100M for the island lines in Mississippi.
Date: 02/07/19 18:44 Re: Another one bites the dust Author: spwolfmtn Maybe KCS is going all out now, not just a "Retro-Belle" paint scheme, but go all out retro - back to the 70's and run just one gigantic train each was a day Kansas City-Shreveport over decrepit, unmaintained trackage thanks to PSR and deferred maintenance. It could be KCS of the 70's all over again!

Yep.....lets continue to wreck the RRs in the name of short term gains and MONEY....??!! And yes, I understand the need to sell underperforming lines. Thats not the point.... I think we ALL KNOW what this will lead to.....?!?! A hint....the word starts with R.... Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 02/08/19 13:43 by ns1000. Actually, my hope is that they WILL sell the Dallas to Meridian and island lines in Mississippi to either BNSF or NS. KCS has never tapped the potential of the east-west Meridian to Dallas shortcut, but they have done far more to promote the line than IC and ICG ever did. Otherwise, it will languish in mediocrity until it becomes another regional. Date: 02/09/19 06:50 Re: Another one bites the dust Author: dt8089 Doesn't NS already have an interest in the Meridian Gateway? I would think they would have first dibs at it and maybe UP as a partner. Dan
