Western Railroad Discussion > Truckee changesDate: 02/16/19 04:51 Truckee changes Author: donstrack A Google Earth view of Truckee reveals that the derrick and snowplow have been moved to display tracks. The view is dated June 2018. The earlier view, dated August 2017, shows that the buildings and snow equipment tracks had not yet been moved.
What are the plans for the derrick and snow plow? A public park and display? Also, it looks like they are going to extend Church Street to cross the balloon track, to connect with Glenshire Drive. Is this a grand plan for redevelopment in Truckee? Here are some photos of the most recent changes. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4604046,4604495#msg-4604495 Here is the news that the derrick and plow had been moved. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4576037,4576037#msg-4576037 Don Strack Date: 02/16/19 14:37 Re: Truckee changes Author: DocJones I'm guessing that UP got a good bit of financial help from the developer on their improvements. Any thoughts?
