Also known as the Magma Turn the LKT72,the Tucson to Phoenix Local is seen crossing the Salt River Bridge with the artificial Lake Tempe in the background ,as well as the City of Tempe,Arizona. This location has been the host of the earliest road and rail crossings of the Salt River in the Valley of the Sun for well over a century.Metro light rail is in the foreground.Bill Webb

Years ago when the Salt flooded that bridge and rail service was only way to travel through there, believe it
was in the later sixties/early seventies. SP was nice enough to offer local passenger service.
