There's still a cotton field next to the Queen Creek Olive Mill (and olive trees) just southeast of Phoenix. I ran across a cotton gin a couple of weeks ago, between Globe and Safford. There are still a few citrus groves around here in Mesa, although home construction has taken many of them out. Agriculture is still fairly important here, at least in some areas.

JB Date: 03/13/19 11:30 Re: Disappearing C(scenes) from the Valley of the Sun Author: callum_out Interesting thread with weird implications. The ex-SF branch from El Mirage to Fennemore is happily still in business
because of an ag related fertilizer business at Fennemore (plus the LPG storage spots). This is all protected by the no-build zone around Luke AFB which manages to still support a sizeable amount of agriculture. If Luke closes all bets are off but for the moment things still grow in the Pnoenix metro. Out |
